Simulacra and Simulation by the French philospher Jean Baudrillard is a very underrated book. It is a very good book, and has influenced the Matrix movies for example. It deals with how we as human beings nowadays in our post modern tech culture constantly create images, which we then believe more in than reality. On top of the whole Maya question. Not only can we not be sure what reality really is and if and how we can perceive and grasp it. But also we ad to the fakeness by creating simulations and copies (simulacra) ourselves, so that our mind gets even more confused what is illusion and what is not.
