Deep Cleaning My Neglected BMW E36 - FULL COMPLETE DETAIL
One of my most satisfying details yet. This complete exterior detail on my absolutely filthy BMW will show you how to wash your car completely from start to finish.
Start with cleaning your wheels. I used superclean degreaser all wheel cleaner for the tire and wheels with an assortment of wheel brushes. Griots Garage foam hose cannon worked well with laying a layer of foam on the car before the contact hand wash. Use a small detailing brush to get into the small areas and emblems. Use either a wool wash mitt or microfiber chanelle wash mitt to get most of the dirt off of the car. Rinse off all the soap. Use a clay bar, in my case a synthetic clay, with an appropriate lubricant to remove embedded contaminants from the car paint. Rinse the lubricant off the vehicle before drying. Try to dry the car in the shade to eliminate water spots. To get really shiny paint use an orbital or polisher with paint correcting compound or polish. This process will take a while but it is worth it in the end. Put some protection on the car with either a spray wax, paste wax, or sealant. Finish up your detail, car wash, by sprucing up the trim pieces, putting on tire shine, and polishing the headlights. Observe your work and enjoy.
