COLLEGE DEGREE vs CERTIFICATION in IT CAREER QUESTIONS
Do you need a college degree or even better - do you need a college degree in IT or IS to work in information technology? How about IT certifications? Can they make up for a missing college degree?
In this video I will go into the details of why you may need an IT college degree or how you can get by with common IT certifications. I personally started my own IT career with IT certifications - first becoming Microsoft certified (Microsoft Certified Professional or MCP) and then upping the game by becoming a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. I also became ITIL Foundation certified, but at a much later point in my career and picked the ITIL certification strategically to shift my IT career towards the IT Manager track.
