📺 How to Install Jellyfin on Ubuntu or Debian (Copy & Paste Tutorial)

In this video, we will walk you through installing Jellyfin on Ubuntu or Debian step-by-step, including folder creation and permissions. Just copy and paste the commands below into your terminal, and you’ll have your own media server up and running in minutes!

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo apt install curl
curl -s https://repo.jellyfin.org/install-deb... | sudo bash

sudo mkdir /mnt/vault
sudo chown username:jellyfin /mnt/vault
sudo chmod 775 /mnt/vault

🌐 Access Jellyfin

Once installed, open your browser and go to:
👉 localhost:8096 or 👉 http://your-server-ip:8096

(Default port is 8096 unless changed)

There is a community-developed Snap package for the Jellyfin media server called "itrue-jellyfin" that is not officially supported or released by the Jellyfin project itself. While it might work for some users, you should be aware of its unofficial status and use official documentation or support channels for help with any issues.
