*Note to all those coming to these videos in 2020 and after: These videos and their descriptions were made right after the game came out so there may be better strategies out there for some of these and I definitely play the game differently today. Still this is how I played it then and if it helps that's cool and if not just treat it like a let's play.*
HAHAHAHAH! I say that for a couple of reasons. First off because I may swear at the end of this video because of a surprise reason. Secondly because there is only one other boss that gave me more trouble that this one. This boss actually almost made me hate this game. I don't know why for a little while there I would just turn the game off and go play something else instead of exploring elsewhere. I guess because I wasn't looking at strategy guides or spoilers so didn't realize he was completely optional. When I finally decided to try another route and take some time to come back to him he still gave me hell. Maybe ya'll had an easier time but this is not an easy boss in my mind. He can be beat though you just have to stay on him and make sure that you don't become stressed
You will need any kind of weapon buff (bolt paper, fire paper, or empty phantasm shell)
1. Get in there and just run at him but kind of to the left. He will be launching his magic orb at you but it will miss. Lock on here and start circling him as he will most likely use his skull attack.
2. He will alternate between the orb attack and the skull attack if you stay at range. The idea is to get in and attack him especially if he is in the middle of charging his orb. He will release a large skull that is an AOE attack so dodge this. You want to bait him into using his sword.
3. Once you have baited him into using his sword he can be staggered into a visceral attack as long as you have enough quicksilver bullets
4. Eventually he will go into a charging animation, I chose to run away as he will do a large blast AOE that does a lot of damage and I don't have high health. He will become much more aggressive after this and it's a matter of having high stamina.
5. The trick is to stagger him here as well at the right times. Also you can lock on to the blade slams into the ground and destroy it which is a must since it will constantly launch blades at you. If you time everything correctly you will bring him down but it takes a lot of precision and in my case luck lol.
