Uzbek folk dance. Lazgi
Uzbek dance Lazgi (or Lazgi) is one of the most colorful and recognizable traditional dances of Uzbekistan, especially typical for the Khorezm region. This dance is considered a cultural symbol of the Uzbek people and is included in the list of UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.
Main features of the dance Lazgi:
1. Emotionality and expression
Lazgi is not just a dance, but a story expressed in movements. It is filled with joy, energy, sincere emotions. The dancer seems to conduct a dialogue with the viewer through facial expressions, gaze, gestures and body movements.
2. Hand and finger movements
One of the characteristic features of Lazgi is graceful, expressive movements of the hands and especially the fingers. The dancers seem to draw patterns in the air, conveying the subtlest nuances of feelings.
3. Rhythm and music
Lazgi is performed to live or recorded folk music with a clear rhythm. Musical instruments such as doira, karnay, surnay set an energetic tempo.
4. Dance of the soul
Lazgi is considered to be a "dance of the soul and body". It symbolizes liberation from anxiety, the joy of life and inner harmony. In some interpretations, one can see elements depicting the interaction of man with nature, animals, and the sun.
5. Performance
The dance can be performed by both women and men. Men's Lazgi is usually more rhythmic and sharp, while women's Lazgi is smooth and graceful. National costume is often used: for women - long bright dresses decorated with embroidery, for men - a chapan and a skullcap.
6. Modern meaning
Today, Lazgi is actively performed at concerts, holidays (for example, Navruz), weddings. It is also studied in choreographic schools as part of the national heritage.
