Gigi's hot shower
Gigi and I sopping wet after our long hot shower. As you can see, her feathers appear even thinner when she's soaking wet (just like a human's head looks if their hair is thinning and they get it wet). I'd happily shower her more often but I let her level of eagerness (or hesitation) dictate when to shower her (sometimes she can't wait to "step up" for the shower; other times she's not in the mood. I also give her light mists of warm water with a small spray bottle in between these full showers). The vet has said to shower her as often as she's willing (that it will help her follicles and won't dry out her skin). Indeed she always looks much fresher, better-preened, fluffier and generally more content for a good week after taking a full steamy shower. ;-)
