Hybrid scoring requires that we use more modern instrumentation like samplers, one-shots, synths and more. Maschine is a flexible and powerful composing tool and since it runs as a VST inside a host, we can use many of its powerful features to augment our hybrid scores.
If you don't have Maschine, this video will also be helpful if you are trying to use drum machines or samplers in Dorico. The main reason to use these "instruments" inside Dorico is so that we can see our entire score and not have to separate some stuff into our DAW (possibly losing track of it as we score). A unified composing environment should be the tool of choice for any busy composer and understanding how to bring Maschine into Dorico can help unify your composing environment.
