Selective colour sports edits seem to be popular at the minute with designers. These edits are images converted to black and white with a single colour preserved to highlight specific areas.
They can be further enhanced with plug in software such as Topaz, but in this tutorial I will show you the simple process to make one. As well as a couple of extra techniques such as cross toning and cross processing effects to further enhance your edit.
If there are areas that you do not want to be selected you can mask the area you don't wish to be highlighted. Vibrance enhances the colour further, with the 'levels' adjustment layer allowing you to boost the contrast by sliding the shadows and highlights bars inwards. Finally to give it a matt effect slide the black output in slightly.
