It just goes to show how incredibly close both the crop sensor and full frame Nikon cameras are in quality, resolution and colours. I think you’re pretty safe with any of them to be honest for astrophotography. The main thing is to have the right lens!
In this video I compare images from the Nikon Z50 VS Nikon D750 photographing the Milky Way with the same settings and same lens (Nikon AF-S 14-24mm F2.8G Lens). Then I compare images of the Nikon Z50 vs Nikon Z7 photographing and videoing the full moon with the same settings and same lens (Nikon AF-S 80-400mm VR Lens). It's a Nikon crop sensor vs full frame astrophotography shoot out. Some of the results did surprise me a little.
