How to Hold a TIG Welding Torch |RVT Welding School|
In this video, we wanted to show you how to best hold the torch for TIG welding and how to support yourself against the metal during welding to make the process more stable, making the job easier.
There are various joints and welding areas where it's impossible to support yourself with your hand, finger, or nozzle, and you have to weld while hanging. This grip complicates the welding process; it becomes less stable because the arc length changes, and your movements can become uneven. This is especially true for beginners.
Before you begin welding, find a comfortable position, grip the torch comfortably, find a support point, and move the torch along the joint (weld area) to ensure nothing will interfere with your progress. Proceed with welding. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
