Vasyl Lomachenko said that he truly came to faith after an unexpected defeat in the ring.
World boxing champion Vasyl Lomachenko told the UWJ in an interview that, in his opinion, both successes and defeats are sent to a person by God for his benefit.
According to the athlete, at the age of 33, after his defeat by Teofimo Lopez, a spiritual turning point occurred in his life, which gave him the opportunity to look at himself from the outside.
It was this moment, as Lomachenko noted, that changed his attitude to his own life and faith.
“The Almighty gave me the talent of hard work in the gym, the talent of becoming a boxer, who I am today. But now I am beginning to understand this. Today I understand that this is all thanks to the Lord. Without His support, without the will of the Almighty, I would hardly have succeeded,” he said.
Lomachenko is also sure that everything that appears or is taken away from any person comes only from the Lord.
“The problems that I had, the successes that I had… I began to simply understand where it came from and Who it was from. If I used to think that the world revolved around me, then at that moment I realized that this was absolutely not the case,” the boxer added.
