First you need to make sure the presence of refrigerant (freon) in the system. To do this, you need to find a filling nipple in the engine compartment, and briefly press this nipple with something thin. If you heard zilch, then there is some pressure in the system, and you should proceed to the second paragraph, and if nothing happens, you must go to the third paragraph.
It is necessary to pay attention to the inclusion of the air conditioner compressor itself. Usually when the air conditioner button is turned on, the compressor clutch should engage the pulley, which is accompanied by a characteristic sound and a drawdown. If there is a characteristic sound, it means that the power supply to the compressor clutch is and it is necessary to proceed to the search for refrigerant leakage. If when you press the power button, nothing happens, you need to proceed to search for the loss of power to the air conditioning compressor clutch.
So, you found out that there is no pressure in the system. This is due to leaks in the system, the search for which can take a long time. You need to start the search from the weakest points of your car (air conditioner radiator, piping, hoses and evaporators). On vehicles such as the Hyundai Grand Stareks, there are two tube loops, which in no way facilitates the search for a leak (in the video recommended at the end of this video there is a reference to our other video). Leak spots are usually accompanied by an oily stain, since gas simultaneously comes out with the oil that the system needs to operate. So you can find an oily stain on the pipelines. The only thing that can complicate the search is how long you drove with an empty system (precipitation can wash away all the characteristic spots).
