This is about a Viking sailor having and cheering his last Celestial #Voyage (the Last Trip after Life comes to a End : A Voyage to the Afterife).
He is longing to return home and is missing his wife, friends and children. It kind of feels of last spiritual trip (journey to the afterlife after death). The sailor is heading for heaven and will have peace and joy in paradise.
This is not a very known piece though beautiful. It is mainly sung and played by Nordics and Scandinavians.
This song was originally written for tenor solo and piano.
