Akbar was in the habit if testing the intelligence of Birbal by asking him tricky questions all time. One day he drew a line on the ground and asked Birbal can you make this line smaller without rubbing it or cutting it?. Birbal immedately bent down and drew a longer line. This made the first line look smaller.
Akbar asked second question, what is the thing that even the sun and the moon also can't see?. Birbal replied " it is darkness your majesty".
What is the difference between the truth and lie? emperor asked again. Birbal said" it is the difference between seeing and hearing, your majesty because what one hears might be false but seeing is believing".
Akbar was satisfied with Birbal's answers and he gave him a necklace as a gift.
