There are some people i know who really don't understand why i put videos on youtube. They tell me: "Do you think you can become famous or something?" Telling me this on a poor manner, but that is absolutely not the point or even my intention (also because the lack of talent and started playing music WAY to late). I tell them i do that for several reasons.
1) Is because it is great to share my taste in music (filmmusic of course:-)) And talk to them about this:-)
2) Is to get in contact with other musician
3) Is to see if you are improving and learn from mistakes and interpretating the music
4) Showing people the incredible strenght of home-made piano arrangement's, and that they are mosty even better then the stuff you buy in stores ("original" sheets made by paid arrangers)
5) It is fun to do:-)
Also some great things happened when I started to upload videos. For instance, coming in contact with some great arrangers:-) Like a piece of the New World, called Rolfe Proposes. I requested this piece to jeremy francis, I told him that Rolfe proposes is one of my favorite pieces and he wanted to help me out! He made sheets for me, and of course for other people too! So that was really awesome!
Another great thing happened to me when i came in contact with Andrew Osano, who is a composer:-) After having a few msn conversations with him. I asked him that he should try to make a piano arrangement:P
And after that he sended me this piece=D Called mammoths. John Powell is his favorite composer. Like James Horner is mine:-)
