Starting up the tandoor 🔥
Well, here's the first firing of my tandoor from https://clck.ru/tigUg
And especially for you, I've put together a guide on how to start it up correctly. Save it ❤️
✅ Remove the lid and cap, pull out the ash pan.
✅ For the first batch, use small wood chips instead of firewood. You can add a little paper.
✅ Light the wood chips and maintain a low flame for 30-40 minutes to thoroughly heat the walls of the tandoor.
✅ After 30-40 minutes, you can add thicker firewood. Make sure the flame rises gradually and does not rise above the neck (this rule should always be followed).
✅ When the flames die down, you can put the lid on to allow it to heat up as well.
✅ At first, the tandoor will turn black, and when it's hot enough, it will turn white (the soot will burn off).
✅ When heating, the tandoor will crack. This is completely normal, don't worry. This happens due to the temperature difference.
