Ever wondered if, deep inside, do we really have faith in God? What is faith in God? How much is that faith? Lets understand this from Swami Mukundananda.
Swami ji graciously explains in this video that our faith is not yet strong enough. To fully understand his point, follow the video and logic below: everything we do 24 hours a day is in the pursuit of happiness. God is an ocean of happiness. We are His tiny parts. Every part is naturally drawn towards its source. That is why we are drawn towards happiness, of which, we are little parts. Our search for happiness is natural because the happiness we are searching for is God Himself, from that point of view we can say that we are all devotees of God. There is no soul on this world which does not love God as we all love the synonym "happiness".
However, it should mean that we have already attained him. Then the question arises that have we seen God, have we reached God or have we met God. The answer obviously is not yet. In fact, as yet, we do not even have faith in God. But one may say that I visit holy places and do prayers etc., The Vedas are telling us that the day you actually believe in the definition of God, you will become God-realized. Pay attention - the definition of God which we all know - He is sitting inside, He is all pervading etc. Do we actually believe this definition. We only know it and say it. Do we have faith that God is everywhere? The very day one develops faith, the very day one believes in that definition, one becomes God realized. Also, the fact that we are all under Maya's influence yet, implies that we are not yet God-realized. Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu had said that - without having darshan of my Lord Krishna, every moment seems like an age long. The whole world is seeming empty. The tears of love are flowing down my eyes! Further Saint Tulsidas had said that - as yet I have got no love for Ram! If I had love for Ram, my love for the things of the world would have finished!
Swami ji concludes by proving that our faith in God currently is tiny at best!
