‘Majik Miner’ is the fourth song and single from Özergun’s EP called ‘Live in Studio A’. Keeping consistent with the animal-themed record, this instrumental song depicts the daily seesaw of freedom and violence in the lives of many birds. It is inspired by all the birdlife seen around Melbourne and is specifically named after the native Noisy Miner.
The music draws on Anatolian melodies and uses funky jazz rhythms in a prog rock context to produce a truly psychedelic 8-minute experience. Filmed and Recorded live at Box Hill Institute, the song features various instrumental solos, including those on bass guitar, drum kit and tenor saxophone.
