Lyrics
High as a kite hidin’ from the search light
I didn’t get home ‘til way past midnight
Sneakin’ through the alley like a hungry dog
I’m not used to livin’ high on the hog
I don’t think you understand
What kind of man I really am
I’m a sinner with a rebel soul
Got a wicked mind with a heart of gold
Take me to the station put me on a train
Before I hit the wall and go insane
There’s no tellin’ if I’m ever coming back
Who knows what’s waitin’ down the track
I don’t think you understand
What kind of man I really am
I’m a sinner with a rebel soul
Got a wicked mind with a heart of gold
I ain’t livin’ a lie
I’ll tell you why
Yeah, I got my pride
I ain’t afraid to die
2am I jumped over the wall
Under a barbed wire fence I had to crawl
But I made it to the Alabama line
Delusions of grandeur in my mind
I don’t think you understand
What kind of man I really am
I’m a sinner with a rebel soul
Got a wicked mind with a heart of gold
I’m a sinner with a rebel soul
Got a wicked mind and a heart of gold
