Connecting a Direct-On-Line (DOL) starter with a Siemens LOGO! PLC involves integrating the PLC for control and automation of the motor starter. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

Components Needed:
1. Siemens LOGO! PLC
2. DOL Starter
3. Contactor
4. Overload Relay
5. Push Buttons (Start and Stop)
6. Power Supply
7. Wiring Tools

Step-by-Step Connection:

1. Wiring the Power Supply:
Connect the power supply to the Siemens LOGO! PLC as per the PLC's voltage requirements.
Ensure that the DOL starter is connected to an appropriate power source (usually three-phase power).

2. Connecting the DOL Starter:
Connect the motor to the output terminals of the DOL starter.
Wire the main power supply through the contactor and overload relay.

3. Push Buttons:
Wire the Start and Stop Push buttons.
*Start Button (NO - Normally Open):* Connect one terminal to the power supply and the other to one of the digital inputs on the LOGO! PLC.
*Stop Button (NC - Normally Closed):* Connect in series with the Start button and to another digital input on the LOGO! PLC.

4. Wiring the Contactor:
Connect the coil of the contactor to the LOGO! PLC’s relay output.
Ensure that the other side of the contactor coil is connected to the common terminal of the relay output on the PLC.

5. Overload Relay:
Connect the overload relay in series with the motor’s power supply line to protect the motor from overcurrent.
Use the auxiliary contact of the overload relay to provide feedback to the LOGO! PLC in case of a fault (optional).

6. LOGO! PLC Configuration:
Program the LOGO! PLC to control the DOL starter.
Create a ladder logic or function block diagram program that includes:
Latching circuit for the motor control (using the Start and Stop buttons).
Relay output to control the contactor.
Overload relay feedback handling (if used).
