Berio - Ricorrenze (1987) (with score)
Composed for the 60th birthday of Luciano Berio's friend and comrade-in-arms Pierre Boulez, Ricorrenze was inspired by Terre Chaleureuse, a work by French artist Jean Dubuffet. Berio’s music is playful and virtuosic, based on the reiteration of pitches at various tempi and in various octaves.
