Using After Effects in Portuguese will make your life easier.
I love our language, but when it comes to After Effects, the translations are quite difficult to understand, and in that case it's better to use it in the original language, which is English.
There are 4 ways I know to change the translation language of Adobe After Effects to English:
First Technique:
Create a file called ae_force_english.txt in your Documents folder.
Second Technique:
In the application.xml file, modify the line "[Data key ="installedLanguages"]pt_BR[/Data]. Replace pt_BR with en_US.
On a PC, this file is located in Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects (your version)\Support Files\AMT
On a Mac it's similar. But you'll have to right-click and select 'Show Package Contents' to access the folders inside After Effects.
Third Technique:
Locate the After Effects folder\Support Files\Dictionaries.
Inside the pt_BR folder, rename the file there to after_effects_en_US.dat
Fourth Technique:
In the Creative Cloud application settings, choose English as the language. Uninstall After Effects and reinstall it.
If English scares you, watch this video with some tips to become more familiar with the language.
