AFK Ocean Farms are a great way to earn gold and platinum with minimal to no effort once they are established. You will need a slime staff and a coin ring (crafted by combining a luck coin and a gold ring), plus a small hut in the ocean biome. The rest, well, you'll see if you watch the video. Easiest way to make money in Terraria, as far as I can tell.
