Active officers are officers recruited under Turkish Armed Forces Personnel Law No. 926, from among men or women who have completed at least four years of faculties or colleges and meet the requirements outlined in the following sections of this page.

After passing all selection stages, active duty officer candidates who qualify for the quota based on their ranking and preferences will undergo "Officer Basic Military Service and Officer Understanding Training." Those who successfully complete the training will be assigned to a course at the school of their assigned class with the rank of "Lieutenant." Those who successfully complete the course will be assigned to appropriate positions within the Force Command to which they are assigned and begin their duties. Candidates who qualify for the quota at the Special Forces Command will be scheduled for training in accordance with current legislation.

Active duty NCOs are non-commissioned officers recruited under Turkish Armed Forces Personnel Law No. 926, from among men and women who have completed at least two years of faculties or colleges and who meet the requirements outlined in the following sections of the guide.

After completing all selection stages, active duty non-commissioned officer candidates who are placed in a quota based on their ranking will undergo "NCO Basic Military Service and NCO Understanding (ASTTASAK) Training." Those who successfully complete the training will be sent to the course at the school of their respective recruitment class with the rank of "NCO." Those who successfully complete the course will be assigned to appropriate positions within the Force Command to which they are assigned and begin their duties.
