How does a scrum master handle underperforming team members?
In a traditional #projectmanagement environment, the #projectmanager carries a lot of authority and actively drives outcomes. In some cases, they even have the power to hire and fire as is appropriate.
A #scrummaster does not have any authority nor are they able to act as a line manager in any circumstance. Instead, they build trust, influence, and grow relationships as a way of getting things done and helping to create an environment where everyone on the team can excel.
So, what do they do if certain individuals are consistently underperforming? How can a #scrummaster help coach or mentor those individuals back to where they need to be?
