The Rylsk St. Nicholas Monastery of the Kursk Diocese became the final frontier of the monastic endeavor of Archimandrite Ippolit (Khalin), who dedicated 11 years of his earthly life to the revival of this monastery, one of the oldest in Rus'.
From all continents and islands of the Orthodox world, a stream of suffering people flocked to their beloved Father, thirsting for consolation, spiritual guidance, and wise worldly advice.
Before this, his life included the Glinsk Hermitage, the Pskov-Pechersky Monastery, and Mount Athos—the arduous steps of his ascent to the Cross of his personal Golgotha. This story is told in a film produced by Kursk television.
