Gruul Mutate uses Haste and Trample to overcome your opponents! This is easily accomplished with the absurd amount of destruction available within Gruul Mutate.
Cards Like Umori, the Collector, Migratory Greathorn, Paradise Druid, Klothys, God of Destiny, Marauding Raptor and Nylea, Keen-Eyed allow us to easily ramp ahead while simultaneously decreasing out required mana to cast creatures.
Beast Whisperer is the greatest draw engine know to Umori based mutate decks!
We are able to mutate Fyling on our offensive creatures with Everquill Phoenix. Otherwise allowing us a solid 4/4 attacker with evasion from the Auspicious Starrix ability free cast.
Where this deck really shines is the new permanent cards like Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded, giving all of our creatures haste! this provides ridiculous amounts on value allowing us to flood the field and attack in the same turn!
Normally we like to keep our mutate stack on Paradise Druid since the Hexproof protects us from single target removal. With the addition of Klothys, God of Destiny, Nylea, Keen-Eyed and Purphoros, Bronze-Blooded we now have Indestructible with can survive field wipes! The only downside is they can still be exiled and you just have the devotion requirement fulfilled prior to mutating them.
Pelt Collector has been removed for Marauding Raptor, allowing us even more ramp effect, which would kill out Pelt Collectors as they enter the battlefield much as they do to our paradise druids.
Auspicious Starrix is still 9000% broken and is without a doubt THE BEST uncommon in Ikoria Lair of Behemoths. Putting Auspicious Starrix onto your untapped Paradise Druid is one of the strongest plays a F2P or beginner can do within Ikoria lair of Behemoths.
