Domotize your radiator/stove with Home Assistant
In this video tutorial we will see how to home-automatize a "dumb" stove, radiator or convector for less than €15 thanks to Home Assistant, a smart plug and a temperature sensor.
By controlling the temperature we will avoid overheating the rooms and wasting heat and electricity, thus saving a little on the electricity bill.
To do this we will use the Generic Thermostat (https://www.home-assistant.io/integra...) which allows us to combine the plug and the temperature sensor to create a new device.
The temperature sensor used is the Xiaomi one ( • Cómo integrar el sensor bluetooth de Xiaom... ), although you can use any one. The advantage of this is that it is very economical (less than €5).
For the plug, any will do (WiFi, Zigbee...) and it is easy to find under €10, but we must make sure that it can withstand the wattage of our radiator, so I recommend one that supports more than 2000W (for Spain and Argentina , 10A, in Mexico at least 16A).
