Today Mark Lieberman interviewed Asheville’s Urban Design and Place Strategies Manager Stephanie Monson Dahl. The Urban Design & Place Strategies group is a comparatively new division in the Planning and Urban Design Department focused on implementing community-driven planning, high-quality urban design, and active management of the public realm.
What does Stephanie and her group do? Adding three new stations to the city’s Urban Trails, walking tour of the city's history that includes a 30-piece 30 sculptural trail stations illustrating Asheville’s past. Stephanie has had a hand in many projects including The River Arts District Transportation Improvement Project, a major design and construction project to renovate the greater River Arts District to support businesses, residents, artists along the French Broad River in the River Arts District of Asheville
