Common Symptoms of Depression
Persistent Sadness or Low Mood: Continuous feelings of sadness, emptiness, or tearfulness.
Loss of Interest or Pleasure: Lack of interest in previously enjoyed activities, including hobbies, social activities, or sex.
Changes in Appetite and Weight: Significant weight loss or gain, or decrease or increase in appetite.
Sleep Disturbances: Insomnia (difficulty sleeping) or hypersomnia (oversleeping).
Fatigue or Loss of Energy: Constant tiredness and a lack of energy to perform daily activities.
Feelings of Worthlessness or Excessive Guilt: Unreasonable feelings of guilt and self-blame.
Difficulty in Concentrating or Making Decisions: Trouble focusing, thinking, or making decisions.
Psychomotor Agitation or Retardation: Restlessness or slowed speech and body movements.
Recurrent Thoughts of Death or Suicide: Frequent thoughts about death, suicidal ideation, or suicide attempts.
