How to Charge your Phone Faster (Smart Phone Charging Tips)
Today I am sharing with you guys some basic tips to help teach you how to charge your phone faster then normal!
I cover a few tips in this video to help with a quicker charge, and I hope you guys enjoy this!
1.) Know your charger
The USB cable used does not make a difference in speed of charge, instead the USB power source is the the decider on how quick of a charge your phone gets.
Go ahead and look at any charger you have currently in your house, on the label you will see something like 5V and 1A.
That stands for 5 volts and 1 amp or, 5 Watts. (Watts= Volts * Amps) This is currently one of the most common USB power sources you will find, and are usually the standard for most smartphones (such as the apple iPhone’s).
Although a 1 amp charger is the norm for most people, you will find that chargers with more than 1 amps will actually charge your phone faster !
Some of you might have learned this trick by plugging an iPhone into the bigger iPad USB charger which is a 2.1 amp power output.
So yes the higher the amps of your charger the faster you will be able to charger you device, just don’t use something which a huge number of amps because that may cause your phone to over heat or become damaged. One thing to not is that if your phone / device is dying on the charger then that is because it is not receiving enough amps to charge your battery efficiently enough. For example if you plug an iPad into an iPhone charger you will get the charging symbol and everything will look like it is working but you’ll notice your battery percentage will stay the same or even decrease! that is because it is not be supplied enough power to compensate for the bigger battery and the more power that the iPad needs to operate.
So in general consider getting a charger with higher than 1 amp output to see a nice increase in your phone charging rate. (Just don’t increase the voltage, keep it at 5V!)
2.)Turn your phone on airplane mode
When your phone is on and connected to either wi-fi or the cellular network, it is constantly receiving a signal. It continuously checks to see if you’re getting any texts messages or emails and also updates the weather pretty frequently in the background without you knowing!
So basically all of this is using up battery life even when the phone is asleep, so turning on airplane mode disables the cell network and wifi connection completely (until turned off). So when the phone is on the charger it can receive the maximum amount of charge because it is using less battery while it is charging, make sense?
3.) Simply dim the brightness of the phone
When your phones brightness is set on a high level it definitely needs more juice from the battery to keep those lights at that brightness, so if you don’t mind a bit of a dim screen go ahead and lower the screens overall brightness and see a bit of an increase while charging up your phones battery.
4.) Get an portable power bank or charging case
This is a last resort, when you are running late and you just didn’t have enough time to get the battery charged up to where you wanted it, consider getting an external battery pack. These things are very helpful, simply charge them up at home or in your car and bring it with you, they have a USB port (or charger cable) built onto them so that you can use that as a battery bank to charge your phone or tablet when you aren’t near an electrical outlet.

Extra Tips:
5.) Don’t charge your phone over night!
I know this seems like a great idea! but overall it’ll ruin the longevity of your phone battery. Eventually your phone will start dying way faster than usual, and its due to the long term effects of over charging your battery. So if you notice your phone is dying on the charger or just taking forever to charge even when it is attached to a high amperage wall adapter, then your battery might be damaged and you’ll probably need another ! and for a lot of the newer smart phones that is easier said then done!
6.) Close out all applications that aren’t in use
Some apps might be getting portions of your battery charge while open in the back ground, the best thing to do is just close them out and only use what you need for the moment.
