IVF with ICSI: Let's understand the difference between the steps of each technique?
IVF is a highly complex procedure in which the fertilization of eggs by sperm is performed outside the woman's body, in an embryology laboratory, requiring the use of specific instruments such as a gamete micromanipulator and special microscopes, and can be performed in two ways.
In traditional IVF, selected sperm are placed in the culture dish containing the eggs for fertilization to occur. In IVF with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), a technique that represents an evolution of traditional IVF, the sperm is injected directly into the egg.
