Sonic CD - Stardust Speedway 3: 1'05"11 (Speed Run)
This is one of the last ILs I could never beat. It seemed strange, I know how the race works. Once you get a comfortable enough lead, the speed of Metal Sonic caps out, so really only the first few seconds should matter in an IL, and don't make a big mistake. But the record always seemed out of reach. Then I found the answer.
Turns out, if you wait right at the end and just win the race, Robotnik actually speeds up trying to kill you, and the race finishes about 0.7 seconds faster. So after learning that, grinded out the start for a nice beginning and threw that in, and got this result. Finally, and now this will be very hard to beat.
