What is "Destructive" and "Non-Destructive" Looping?
There's a huge range of effects and manipulations that can be applied to a loop after it's been recorded. In a broad sense, there are two basic ways these effects can interact with a loop:
• "Non-Destructively" - they change the sound during playback, but the basic loop itself is unaltered when the effects are turned off.
• "Destructively" - the effects are recorded into the audio of the loop itself, permanently changing its sound.
In this crash-course video, we use the Glou-Glou Loupé and Chase Bliss Blooper to examine different ways of manipulating loops in both destructive and non-destructive ways.
