50th Anniversary of the 25th Submarine Division of the Pacific Fleet /
The 25th Red Banner Submarine Division is a Pacific Fleet submarine force. It was the first division of nuclear-powered missile-carrying submarines in the Pacific Fleet in the history of the Soviet Navy.
The history of this strategic nuclear submarine force dates back to 1973, when, in accordance with Directive No. 130/1/00157 of the Navy Commander-in-Chief of February 6, 1973, and No. 730/1/00152 of the Navy General Staff of February 5, 1973, the division's formation began.
The formation of the submarine division command center in Krasheninnikov Bay began on October 1, 1973, and was completed on October 20. Initially, the division consisted of the cruiser submarines K-252, K-258, K-446, K-430, K-436, and K-451, and four floating barracks for personnel: PKZ-182, PKZ-2, PKZ-94, and PKZ-155. The strategic missile submarines K-252, K-258, and K-446 were assigned to the 8th Submarine Division.
