Pia answers one of the most frequent questions we get at the Karajan Institute: Are there any scores with Karajan's handwritten notes? And so, for the very first time in broader public, she presents a rare Mussorgsky’s "Boris Godunov" score with Karajan’s annotations.
The 1967 performance by the Vienna Philharmonics of Boris Godunov’s score was one of the best performances they’ve ever played in. Also, an amusing story was Mariss Janson’s eagerness to get his hands on it. He visited the Karajan archive back in 2019 as he wanted to do the special Karajan version of Boris Godunov.
