"Both tracks are utterly escapist, taking a deep dive into the '90s sound that both Clanton and Hexum explore in their separate projects, albeit in different ways. But when put together, they mesh naturally; Hexum’s signature staccato and fuzzy guitar melts into Clanton’s ethereal electronic backdrop to create the ultimate musical getaway..."

"The two debut songs are proof that the process works. Despite being separated by a nearly 20-year age difference, the artists share an open-minded approach that prioritizes pushing boundaries. One came up in the 90s, the other is coming up by reimagining sounds from that era. But both have a cohesive creative vision that comes through in their music. It’s a surprising collaboration, but it also makes sense."

"311 got wind of Clanton’s passionate fandom and invited him backstage at a show in Charlotte in the summer of 2018. Hexum, who had never heard of vaporwave, checked out Clanton’s music and was supposedly so blown away by the “incredible electronic soundscapes” that he later emailed Clanton hoping to collaborate."
