Vampire Hunter D is one of the longest running dark fantasy/sci-fi novel series in Japan, which has grown into a massive multimedia franchise. In 2000, Studio Madhouse released an adaptation of Hideyuki Kikuchi's third novel in the series, creating one of their most hauntingly iconic feature films.
