Tail-wind

Since childhood I have been fascinated by such adventure novels as Treasure Island by Robert Steavenson, Captain Grant's Children [In Search of the Castaways] by Jules Verne, Hearts of Three by Jack London. Oftentimes travelers seeking a clue to the origin of the mystery have been encountered both storms and trials, but luck still accompanied them and they catched the tailwind.

As an adult, I have retained my youthful dreams and still enjoy travelling and the pleasure of discovering. Over the past two decades, I have visited the UK, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain, France, Croatia, Montenegro, Switzerland, Turkey and several other countries. I painted sketches from life, drawing on the experience of both realistic and impressionistic movements. I tried to absorb the most progressive ideas. I worked in the art studio, using natural materials, gradually forming his own artistic language. The beauty of the place or the historical events that took place there inspired me to create my art pieces.

After my graduation from the Ilya Glazunov Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, I found freedom in the stormy sea of the contemporary art and began my own journey to explore cultural heritage, the museum world, and the legal aspects of artistic activity. Art is not only the creation of cultural and material values, but also the process of self-knowledge, integration of cultures, exchange of experiences and selection of acquired knowledge. I steadily gained recognition in the art community. I took part in a large number of museum and gallery exhibitions in Russia and abroad. I’ve succeeded in interviewing and collaborating with professionals in the field of examination of cultural property, gallery owners, auction houses, insurance agents, publishing houses, and copyright lawyers. As a result, I gained invaluable experience, which I am ready to share with my viewer. When preparing this large-scale exhibition, which features 250 paintings and over 30 publications, I tried to unite them with the common subject of travel-passion. I selected paintings that were different in genre and technique, including landscapes, portraits, still life paintings, historical paintings, and book illustrations. Viewers will have a chance to observe art pieces drawn in the techniques of oil painting, tempera, watercolor, and graphite pencil.

Catching a tailwind is not an accident, but the chance to reap the rewards of your labor, the outcome of the unremitting toil. Considering the above, I tried to select and present to the public the best, to my mind, art pieces from my collection. I would like to wish the visitor a tail-wind in his creative endeavors, in exploring the expanses of the fine art abundance, as well as in reaching the acme of the art skills!
