Over the past few hundred years there have been many famous animal extinctions. Most recent animal extinctions are all down to humans with global warming and habitat destruction being the main factors. In this video I will be going through just a few of these recent animal extinctions as I will be going through 5 recently extinct animals gone but not forgotten.

For our first recently extinct species we will be heading to the Bering sea as we have the Steller's sea cow. Steller's sea cow was a large member of the dugong family and was thought to have gone extinct due to overhunting.

For our next recently extinct species we will be heading to the middle east as we have the Caspian tiger. The Caspian tiger was one of the largest subspecies of tiger and roamed from eastern turkey to China. The Caspian tiger was thought to have gone extinct due to overhunting and overhunting of their prey.

Foe our next recently extinct species we will be heading to the coastal waters of japan as we have the Japanese sealion. The Japanese sea lion was very similar in size and body shape to the closely related California sea lion. The Japanese sea lion was hunted mainly for oil and went extinct in the early 1900s.

Foe our next recently extinct animal we we be heading over to southern Australia as we have Grey's Wallaby. Grey's wallaby was a swamp loving wallaby and was known for being sociable and nocturnal. Grey's wallaby went extinct after European colonisation but there still may be some out there.

For our final recently extinct species we will be heading to north Africa as we have the Bubal hartebeest. The bubal hartebeest has a long history with humans and was domesticated in ancient Egypt. It's thought that these creatures went extinct due to overhunting and although they're gone they will not be forgotten.
