In this video, I take a look at Martin Luders' PG8x, a freeware VST emulation of the Roland JX-8p subtractive synthesizer. It's the synth I use in my book to explain subtractive synthesis, and in addition it's capable of opening original JX patch files in .syx format, allowing you to emulate the sounds of yesteryear in an authentic manner.
