Saving a CAD drawing as dwt filetype will allow you to have a template to continue on, which saves a lot of time. Simply save as the drawing under this file extension and it will be found in C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20XX\R24.1\enu\Template.
