Debris on the airfield is a major cause of damage to aircraft, costing millions of dollars per month in maintenance and in potentially endangering lives. SweepTEQ are developing a line of robotic rovers that uses a combination of autonomous motion planning and object detection to scan the airfield for debris and safely collect it. We spoke to Founder and CEO Ahmed El Rayes about how this innovative product was developed and the technical challenges involved.

As an official partner of Startupbootcamp IoT, we will be continuing to track the progress of SweepTEQ and all of the participating startups over the coming months, so stay tuned to the element14 community for further updates.
