How to Adjust a Front Door Strike Plate

How I did a quick and simple mod on a badly installed forend strike plate to stop the door bolt catching it.

The obvious thing to do was lower the forend strike plate but this involved pegging each screw hole, chiselling the door frame and filling the gap left from moving the strike plate. By far the easiest option was to trim a couple of mms from the bottom of the strike plate, which I did using my Black & Decker power file and Dremel.
