If War Thunder's Panther was historically accurate (Redux)
Germany's Panther medium tank was created as a direct response to the Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks which generally outpaced Germany's current tanks, the Panzer IV and Panzer III, in firepower and armor protection. The Panther was rushed into service, suffering from some pretty major mechanical and design issues. Most of these would be smoothed out as the war progressed, however some issues lingered. Namely, the final drives and engine continued to be problematic. These reliability issues were compounded by a lack of spare parts. Germany favored building news tanks to boost production numbers instead of building more spare parts for existing ones. While the Panther is impressive in its own right, a number of factors continued to hold it back for the entirety of its very short career.
