FTK Imager is a disk imaging and basic analysis tool use for digital forensics. It is a relatively easy tool to use, even for beginners.

Forensic disk images are bit-by-bit copies of digital storage devices. We verify the integrity of digital forensic images by calculating a hash value of the data. Hashing algorithms normally used in digital forensic investigations are MD5 and SHA1. Other hash values may be used, depending on the legislation in your country (what your court accepts).
