Q: How many days can a parent/visitor stay in the UK on a visitor visa? Can they stay for 2 months and return after a gap of 3 months and then stay for 6 months?
A: A visitor can stay for a maximum of 180 days in a 12 months period, the calculation of 12 months period can be from the date of first entry which is the safe option, for example a visitor visits the UK on 1 February 2018 and stays for 3 months and goes back to their Home Country can return to the UK in few months and stay for 3 more months till January 2019.
