View SolidWorks parts without opening the full CAD model with Solidise.
In this video, I show how Solidise works as a lightweight SolidWorks preview tool and property inspection workspace. Not every SolidWorks question requires opening the full model in SolidWorks or eDrawings. Sometimes you only need to confirm what a part looks like, which configuration it is, or what custom properties are attached to it.
I start by selecting a part or assembly row in the Solidise browser workspace. Solidise loads the stored preview image from the local agent, so the CAD file does not need to be uploaded to a cloud viewer. This gives you a quick visual check before deciding whether the full model needs to be opened.
Next, I inspect indexed, configuration-aware properties. These may include description, configuration, material, revision, and other custom properties depending on the data available in the SolidWorks file.
This workflow is useful during search, reuse checks, procurement review, onboarding, and release preparation. Solidise acts as a SolidWorks viewer with properties, helping teams view SolidWorks custom properties and answer small file questions directly in the browser.
