ABOUT FAR CRY 7: Set four years after Far Cry 6, players are placed in Coonowrin, a fictional part of South Australia located across the borders of Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Authoritarianism has broken out in the country in reaction to growing drug trafficking concerns. In an act of preserving their reputation, the government hired CROWN, a PMC to apprehend the Haddie Gang and anyone accused of smuggling Kyratian contraband. You are a veteran war journalist (Mark Coles Smith, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, The Last Cab to Darwin) assigned with reporting the conflict. You realise early on, the anonymous man pulling the strings of the conflict is Arthur Logan (Ben Mendelsohn, Rogue One, Captain Marvel), an ex-ADF captain whose radical philosophy on power kept him in control over the conflict.
GUNS, SPEARS, AND BOOMERANGS
A wide variety of weapons are available at your disposal. Wield the traditional Steyr with its stable recoil control. Or if you’re nostalgic, then the native Owen Gun packs a punch with its impressive fire rate. Don’t be too comfortable, as guns can be jammed if overused. However, varnish bottles are scattered across the regions for your convenience.
For those who prefer not to go loud, traditional weapons like the boomerang and the spear will help you lie low. Like previous instalments, players can perform takedowns with a variety of bladed and blunt weapons each with their own speed.
AGGRESSIVE WEATHER CONDITIONS
The Bush does not discriminate by faction. During hot periods of weather, the player’s hydration meter drains quicker. Some locations are unreachable through main roads but can be quickly reached should the weather remain dry. In some areas of the land, rain can fall at any time in which the ground turns muddy, making some travel routes incalculable. Nonetheless, the player can seize the opportunities to refill their canteen.
ANIMALS AND CREATURES
Home to a diverse chain of deadly fauna, the Bush has no rest for the weary. Crocodiles lurk beneath brown rivers, while dingos and kangaroos spring across dry hills. However, not all creatures have to be your enemy. Befriend a former racing greyhound, a tamed magpie who strikes fear into its foes, and Hugh, a pet wolverine Hurk Jr. imported from Montana.
